Jump Start Program
Jump Start is a drop-off program for 2.5 to 3 year-olds whose birthdays are too late for our traditional 3 year-old program. Children as young as 2 years, 5 months can enroll throughout the school year as they become age eligible. The jump start curriculum is specifically designed to help toddlers develop the skills they will need to successfully participate in a preschool setting. We initially emphasize basic skills such as confidence at drop-off and competency with self-help skills. Traditional preschool curriculum such as children’s rhymes, painting, and blocks encourage language, fine motor, and spatial skills to create a strong foundation for learning. Throughout each day, children are lovingly encouraged to engage in positive peer interactions while actively investigating the world.
Newport Center United Methodist Preschool offers a six-week summer school program. “Fun in the Sun” starts in late June and meets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Each week features a different exciting adventure with “Wet and Wild Wednesdays,” always the highlight of each week. Your child will experience art on the Art Patio, waterworks in our Orchard, mud pies in our river, waterslides and much, much more! To add to the fun, our music teacher, Mrs. Hoppe joins us for three Sing-a-Longs. Families are always welcome to join us for Sing-a-Longs in the sanctuary.
