Jump Start

Jump Start is a program for 2 to 3 year-olds. Children as young as 2 years can enroll throughout the school year as they become age eligible and potty trained. The jump start curriculum is specifically designed to help toddlers develop the skills they will need to successfully participate in a preschool setting. We initially emphasize basic skills such as confidence at drop-off and competency with self-help skills. Traditional preschool curriculum such as children’s rhymes, painting, and blocks encourage language, fine motor, and spatial skills to create a strong foundation for learning. Throughout each day, children are lovingly encouraged to engage in positive peer interactions while actively investigating the world.

Transitional Kindergarten

Transitional Kindergarten is designed for children who need the gift of time before they enter a traditional kindergarten program. TK children are provided with individual instruction in the areas where growth is needed and more advanced instruction in the areas where they are proficient.

While continuing to work with the children in the social skills arena, we have adopted The Houghton Mifflin PreK Curriculum Program, which is used by the Newport Mesa School District and many local private schools, to better prepare our students academically to attend both public and private kindergarten programs. The Handwriting Without Tears Program that was introduced during the 4-year-old program will continue to be implemented.
